2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
2.1 Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, remember preferences, and understand how sites are used.
2.2 Similar technologies include:

(b) pixels or tags;
(c) software development kits (SDKs) in limited cases; and
(d) server logs and similar identifiers.
2.3 In this policy, references to “cookies” include these similar technologies where appropriate.
2.4 Cookies may be:

(b) Persistent cookies — remain for a set period or until you delete them.
2.5 Cookies may be:
(a) First-party cookies — set by our Site; or
(b) Third-party cookies — set by another domain (for example a map, captcha, analytics, or embedded service provider).
3. How the law applies
3.1 In the UK, cookies are regulated under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (“PECR”), alongside the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 where cookie data is personal data.
3.2 In summary:
(a) Strictly necessary cookies may be set without consent where essential to provide a service you request (for example security, load balancing, or remembering cookie-consent choices).
(b) Non-essential cookies (for example most analytics, advertising, and some preference cookies) require your consent before they are set, unless an exemption applies.
3.3 Where consent is required, we aim to obtain it through a cookie banner or preference centre before non-essential cookies run. You can withdraw or change consent later (see section 8).
4. Why we use cookies
4.1 We use cookies to:
(a) operate the Site securely and reliably;
(b) remember choices you make (including cookie preferences);
(c) enable forms, spam protection, and basic functionality;
(d) understand how the Site is used so we can improve content and performance (if analytics are enabled);
(e) support embedded content (for example maps) where used; and
(f) measure and protect against abuse.
4.2 We do not use the corporate Site contact form to place you on a marketing list. If we introduce advertising or marketing cookies in future, we will update this policy and request consent where required.
5. Categories of cookies we use
5.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These are essential for the Site to function or to provide a service you request. Examples include security cookies, load-balancing cookies, cookies that remember your cookie-consent decision, and cookies required to submit forms securely.

5.2 Functional / preference cookies
These remember choices you make (for example language, UI preferences, or banner dismissal beyond the minimum necessary consent record) to provide enhanced features.

5.3 Analytics / performance cookies
These help us understand visits, popular pages, approximate location (city/region level), device types, and technical issues. Data may be aggregated. Providers may process data as processors or independent controllers depending on configuration.
Lawful basis / PECR position: consent for non-essential analytics in the UK, unless configured in a genuinely exempt way (we do not rely on exemptions lightly).
5.4 Marketing / advertising cookies
These track browsing to build profiles or show relevant ads across sites. We do not currently intend to run third-party advertising networks on the corporate Site in Phase 1. If that changes, we will update this section and require consent.

6. Cookies and technologies we expect to use (inventory)
6.1 Our Site is built on WordPress with Elementor, the Elevex theme, Forminator Pro (contact forms), hosting and security tooling (including Hostinger and WPMU DEV-related services where enabled), and may include embeds such as OpenStreetMap or Google Maps and CAPTCHA (for example Google reCAPTCHA).
6.2 The table below describes categories and typical examples. Exact cookie names, providers, and durations can vary by plugin version and configuration. We will replace “To be confirmed in production” rows with precise names when our production inventory is finalised (for example via a cookie scan). Until then, treat the category descriptions as controlling.

6.3 Server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps, requested URLs) may be processed by our hosting provider for security, diagnostics, and operations. These are not always “cookies” but are related technical processing described further in our Privacy Policy.
6.4 If you are logged into WordPress as an administrator or editor, additional cookies will be set for authentication. Ordinary visitors do not need an account to use the public Site.
7. Third-party cookies and embedded content
7.1 When we embed third-party content (maps, video, fonts served from a third party, CAPTCHA, or analytics), those third parties may set cookies or receive technical data such as your IP address.
7.2 We do not fully control third-party cookies. Please review the relevant third party’s privacy/cookie information. Examples of providers that may appear depending on configuration include:
(a) our hosting company (for example Hostinger);
(b) Google (if reCAPTCHA, Google Maps, Google Fonts, or Google Analytics are enabled);
(c) OpenStreetMap or map tile providers (if OSM embeds are used);
(d) WPMU DEV / Forminator-related services;
(e) content delivery or security networks used by the host or plugins.
7.3 Enabling a third-party embed only after consent (where required) is our preferred approach for non-essential embeds.
8. How to control cookies
8.1 Cookie banner / preferences
Where implemented on the Site, you can accept or reject non-essential cookies via our cookie banner or preference controls. You can usually change your mind later by clearing cookies for this Site and reloading the page, or via a “Cookie settings” link in the footer when available.
8.2 Browser settings
Most browsers let you:
(a) view and delete cookies;
(b) block third-party cookies;
(c) block all cookies; or
(d) notify you when a cookie is set.
Browser controls differ. Help pages are available from browser vendors (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.). Blocking all cookies may cause parts of the Site (including forms or preference memory) to fail.
8.3 Global privacy controls
If we detect recognised browser signals (for example Global Privacy Control) in future, we may honour them for relevant non-essential cookies where required or as a matter of good practice. Support depends on our consent tooling.
8.4 Analytics opt-out
If we enable a named analytics product, we will add provider-specific opt-out links or configuration notes in an updated version of this table.
9. Do Not Track
9.1 Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no uniform legal standard for DNT responses. Our primary control mechanism is the cookie banner/preferences and browser cookie settings unless we state otherwise in a future update.
10. Personal data, retention, and transfers
10.1 Cookie-related information may be personal data (for example IP addresses combined with identifiers). Our Privacy Policy explains lawful bases, retention, international transfers, security, and your UK GDPR rights: /privacy-policy
10.2 Consent records (evidence that you set cookie preferences) may be stored for a period sufficient to demonstrate compliance (often up to 12–24 months, depending on tooling).
10.3 Third parties may process data outside the UK. Where applicable, safeguards are described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Children
11.1 The Site is directed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly use cookies to target children. See also the children’s section of our Privacy Policy.

12.1 We may update this Cookie Policy when our Site, plugins, embeds, or legal requirements change — including when we complete a full production cookie inventory.
